ZW Steel Grit is an angular metallic abrasive produced by crushing specially heat treated steel shot. Our Steel Grit has features of
optimum mechanical characteristics, good tenacity, fatigue resistance, impact resistance, high wear resistance
long working-life,lowconsumption,etc;
Mainly used for metal surface descaling, coating removing, surface pre-treatment before coating, etc.
Grit blasting is a process by which abrasive particles are made to impinge on a component to clean or modify its surface properties.
Abrasive grit blasting, or sand blast cleaning, is a surface treatment process widely used in a variety of different industries with many
diverse purposes.
Abrasive blasting is the process by which an abrasive media is accelerated through a blasting nozzle by means of compressed air.
The abrasive used varies based on the surface treatment required.
Different hardness of steel grit:
1. GP steel grit: When this kind of abrasive is newly , it is sharp and sharp, and the edges and corners are quickly rounded during use,
which is especially suitable for the pretreatment of removing oxide scale on the surface of steel.
2. GL steel grit: Although the hardness of this type of steel grit is higher than that of GP steel grit, it will still lose edges and angles during
the sand blasting process, which is especially suitable for pre-treatment of removing oxide scale on the steel surface.
3. GH steel grit: This kind of steel grit has high hardness and will always maintain edges and corners during sandblasting. It is particularly
effective for forming regular, hairy surfaces.
The range of uses for abrasive grit blasting are very broad and include:
a) Surface preparation prior to painting, bonding or other coating operations
b) Removal of rust, scale, sand, or paint from fabricated components
c) Roughening of industrial gas turbine engine component surfaces in preparation for thermal spray coating
d) Removal of burrs or edge profiling machined components
e) Providing a matte cosmetic surface finish on consumer products
f) Removal of mold flash from plastic components
g) Surface texturing of tooling, and molds to alter the appearance of molded or stamped products
